Winners of the Women's Day Poetry Competition Announced

The winners of the ERP Women’s Day Poetry Competition are:

Age 6 – 9 Category: Adeliah Hlalukane of Evaton Primary School

Age 10 – 13 Category: Busisiwe Phati of Thabeng Primary School.

Age 14 – 18 Category: Thabo Mthethwa of Khutlo Tharo Secondary School.

Each lucky winner will receive a computer and internet connection from the Evaton Renewal Project.

Women's Day poetry competition!

Calling all Evaton learners! How would you like to be one of three lucky learners to win your very own computer with Internet access? Enter our Women's Day poetry competition and you could be a winner. If you win, you and your school in Evaton will be featured on the Evaton website!

How to enter :

Write a poem that portrays a special message about National Women's Day. Your poem can discuss anything that shows the important roles and activities that women play in our society and in our lives. Poems may be written in any language. Entries must be faxed to the Evaton Renewal Project at 0866 354 127/8, or delivered to the Department of Housing ERP offices at the Richard Robert Wright Seminary, at the corner of Bodea & Buffalo Roads. Please remember to include your name, age, address, school and contact details.

Who can enter :

Any learner living or schooling in Evaton may enter. Evaton schools are requested to encourage their learners to participate.  

Closing Date : 25th September 2008  

Winning Categories :

One winning poem will be selected from each of the following age categories:

  • Ages 6 - 9
  • Ages 10 - 13
  • Ages 14 - 18.

Competition Rules :

1. No late entries will be accepted after 15h00 on the closing date.
2. Only poems written by learners will be accepted. The judges reserve the right to withdraw any poems suspected to be written by anyone other than a learner.
